Why does the faith provision the advisory contempt?

counting down to school holidays

In one and a half weeks Australia will be on school holidays.
The kids get 6 week off during the Christmas holidays as we call it.
But for the kids 6 weeks isn't enough time off from school.
I must say i have to agree with them.  By the time the holidays are on we are getting the last of the Christmas shopping done. Then it's a week the the new year. (sigh)
The I'm doing the getting ready for school shopping,  e.g getting new school bags, school clothes, paying school fees etc etc. Which all takes time and a lot of running around.
By the time i finish all that i need a holiday lol.

It's begining to look like Christmas

I love getting pres ants for my family and friends, the way there faces light up when they open what i brought them.

I also look at the spiritual side of Christmas, and what that means to me.
we go to carols by candle light and i love listening to the carols they sing.
Christmas eve we go looking at the Christmas lights. And it gets me and my kids
ready for Christmas day.

Buying Presants

I tell myself every year that next year i will get all my Christmas shopping done early........ And every year i seem to wait to the last minute.
This year has gone so quickly, it just seems like Christmas was not so long ago. Christmas come sooner for me every year.
There just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day to do anything......I wonder whats its like for you?
We have a Christmas pageant, one big one in the city and two small one out side of town.  My daughter was in one last week she is a cheer leading, and had so much fun...
When the pageant has been and gone i put the Christmas tree up and start getting the house ready for Christmas.
My daughter ask me why i haven't put the tree up yet, I couldn't give her an answer because i didn't have one.
I will put that on my list of things to do this week.  Yes yes yes as well as my Christmas shopping.
OK everyone have fun shopping see you all next week......

Count down to Christmas

As we count down to Christmas. I find that I'm very grateful to be here, because i nearly wasn't.
At the start of the year i was very sick with a brain virus. So for six very long weeks i thought i was going to die, and so did my kids every time i when to the hospital they didn't know if i was ever coming home.  And if i was to be perfectly honest i didn't think i was either.

Two months after getting sick and going to the doctors for a check up he said i would see some chances in me, he just didn't tell me what they would be, because everyone different.

I wont bore you with the details of how i have changed.  I just have.

Getting to know the new me is very hard to do, because i just went straight to work, without taking in what just happen to me, i went though i life changing sickness.

Seeing to toil it has taken on my kids makes me very sad.

We all feel grateful to be together for Christmas.  For every day that goes by I'm just so happy to be here.

Winter or Summer Christmas

Here in Australia we have really hot Christmas days.
I would like just once in my life have a white Christmas, then i think it would really feel like Christmas.
Some people like to spend Christmas at the beach, or go out on picnics in the park..
I tend to be very busy Christmas day. We spend time with just my kids them we go to by brother's place and catch up with family.
If its really hot we would leave my brothers early and call some friends and meet them at the beach.
There is nothing like watching the sunset on the beach its very beautiful.
My kids love going to my brother for Christmas, because he has horse and my girls love horses.
Some times my brother if not to busy telling will go get some horse ready for my girls to ride.  The look on there faces priceless.
So where ever you are enjoy the weather........

For most of us change can be hard, I hate changes.  But have learnt that some changes in my life can be good.
Being a mother of 4 kids, to young enough to still need me and 2 older one that don't need me at all.
I'm finding it hard to let go, let them make there own mistakes.
I know as a mother i want to do everything for them, and i have....
Which i have made a rode for my back, to the point my older kids wont do anything at all.
My oldest son tells me its women's work, and that its my job to pick up after everyone all the time.
I cant point the finger at anyone else but me.
I now realise it is good for kids to have jobs to do around the house.  And its alright to tell them to pick up after themselves.

I also hate getting older my body is changing so much, I'm getting aches and pains where i didn't have aches and pains.
I'm forgetting things a lot more now, so finding that i have to write everything down, the problem i have is remembering to look at what i wrote.

I would like to know why Americans celebrate Halloween in the first place.
I think Australians have seen on t.v how much fun you have on Halloween so we have copy it here in Australia
If there is any American who come to my blog please let me know why you have Halloween please.
I'm very interested to know.

Who we would buy for

Continuing on from last week....
I had two brothers and three sisters, and that's not counting the step brothers and sisters.
So it is safe to say we had a big family, between my mothers family and my fathers.
So to work out who to buy for we would put names in a hat and pull out the name of the person we would be buying for that year.
Keeping in mind that we still would buy for mum and dad.  It would just cost so much money if we brought for everyone.
We made sure it was fair for everyone so we had a budget, and no one was to go over it.
I would always stress out on what to get for the person i was buying for, and all that stressing was for nothing, because they always loved what i brought.
Those days are long gone now, and thinking about that brings tears to my eyes.
I don't see a lot of my family anymore, its only on Christmas that i see my brother or my sister.
Time seems to go so quickly now. But i will always look back with wonderful memories.

Yes dare i say it....
Christmas is around the corner, and is coming faster every year.
I would like to share just a few Christmas traditions i had growing up.
I had the best of two worlds, i live with my mother most of the time and spent time with my dad some week ends and some holidays.

With my mother we would get a pine tree a week before Christmas, decorate it and by the time Christmas was over it was ready for the tip.  So funny because we would be picking pine needles from the floor when it was getting close to taking the decorations off.

My mother would bake for a week leading up to Christmas.  And on Christmas day family and friends would visit and end up rolling out the doors.
Mum was very happy that she always had enough food for everyone that came around, we would be eating leftovers for a week after.

At my Dads because he was German we would open pres ants the day before Christmas.
And would have a beautiful lunch laid out Christmas Day.
Mind you we would still have pres ants to open Christmas day as well.

Singing Christmas carols in the nursing home, and we would go to different peoples houses and sing carols to them as well, which was one of my favorite things to do. we did that a couple of days before Christmas.

That just feels you with the spirit of Christmas.

When i got married i wanted to make some Christmas traditions for my own family.
So every year we would give a gift to our friends Christmas eve, just before we would go around and look at the Christmas lights.

These facts are for the men

Signs & Symptoms
Male breast cancer can exhibit the same symptoms as breast cancer in women, including a lump. Anyone who notices anything unusual about their breasts, whether male or female, should contact their physician immediately. Survival rates and treatment for men with breast cancer are very similar to those for women. Early detection of breast cancer increases treatment options and often reduces the risk of dying from breast cancer.

Infiltrating Ductal Carcinoma

Of the men who develop breast cancer, the vast majority of those cases are Infiltrating Ductal Carcinoma (IDC), which means cells in or around the ducts begin to invade surrounding tissue. Very rarely, a man might be diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer, or Paget disease, of the nipple.

Genetic testing

Although treatment outcomes are very similar to women at the same stage of detection, a man diagnosed with breast cancer should also consider seeing a genetics counselor for a consultation. If a man tests positive for a defective gene (most commonly either BRCA1 or BRCA2) that can lead to a future diagnosis of breast cancer and his children have a 50% chance of carrying the gene. In addition:
  • A male child of a man with breast cancer who inherits the defective BRCA2 gene has only approximately 6% chance of eventually developing breast cancer and just over 1% with BRCA1.
  • A female child of a man with breast cancer who inherits the defective gene has a risk between 40% and 80% of eventually developing breast cancer.
  • Men with a genetic predisposition to breast cancer are also at higher risk of getting prostate cancer at a younger age than usually diagnosed.
These facts i share with you are from National Breast Cancer Foundation Inc.

More information regarding breast cancer

Two fact i find interesting are by Dr Barinear

1. The breast is the most common site of cancer in Women.  Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women.

2. The annual risk of a 70 year old women being diagnosed with breast cancer is three times that of a 40 year old women.

I'm a women in my 40s and i find those 2 facts very scary to me.  And i make sure i check my breast regularly.

Avon is the biggest supporter of breast cancer and this year they are selling a Christmas breast cancer bauble to put on your tree, all money made from the sales of these baubles go to breast cancer research.

Wouldn't it be great to live in a world without cancer breast.

To tip or not tip

I know in America you have to tip in restaurants, there are some restaurants here in Australia where they have jars to put tips in.
So here is my question is it bad taste not to tip here in Australia?

I have two children with mcad and wanted to know if there is other family in Australia with children the same.

Hospital visits every six months.

My daughter use to get sick all the time when she was young.  Now whens she is sick she copes a lot better.
